The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories has a limit of 1600x1200. This wouldn't be an issue because we didn't have high resolution displays back then but nowadays most monitors, some high-end laptops and HDTVs support a resolution of 1920x1080 which doesn't work with The Sims 2.
