Hi just took delivery of my vida/dice with 2011d this morning but cant get it to install! I have a new sony vaio with 8gb ram, 500gb hdd, core i5 2.4mhz, win 7 home premimum 64 bit. I have tried everything but all it says one or more componants not upto vida spec? So i installed win xp pro on a VM with ie8 and 4gb and it goes through ok then says installing please wait untill setup is complete but it has said this for two hours and the hdd light is on all the time does anyone have any ideas? I also downloaded 2012a and that does the same even on win7 running in xp mode? Please help as i want to play with my new toy:-(. As far as im aware and im sure there are far more computer literate peeps on this forum, but, Vida will only run on 'pro' operating systems.

XP is best, and only to a 'C' designated drive. The installation process will be stored in a log file, and will show which error (missing vida component), has been encountered.

In your search menu, type Installation_log, and there may be one or two in one of the vida folders. The log file will open with notepad. When log file opened, press ctrl+F, type error in the box with linking cursor, see what evolves. The info you need to look for will be at the end of a lig. Work down the timeline. See the example of a missing component, the ERROR below showing not enough disk space! 00:43:48 [INFO] **************************Start computer check************************** 00:43:49 [ERROR] Free disk space is below the recommended!

There is also a registry hack which will tweak your bells and whistles new laptop into a 'pro' system.

Hope this helps a little bit, Jim. It will run on home premium you need to edit the registry temporarily to make it work though.

Run 'regedit' from the start menu HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows NT->CurrentVersion, now click on that. You should see 'EditionID', and it has a value of 'HomePremium'. Change this to 'Professional' by clicking on it and typing 'Professional' without the quotes into the popup box. Search again for the second entry, change to 'Professional'. Leave regedit open.

Install VIDA 2011D or version of choice Go back into the regedit program and change that value back to 'HomePremium'. Try that i'm not taking credit for this lol, i got this sent to me by a very helpful member on here.
